Senior Accountant

Role description:  The Senior Accountant assists with the general accounting responsibilities and financial transactions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliations and financial statement preparation.  The objective of this position is for the team to member to gain a detailed understanding of the full cycle accounting process of the company and learn the nature and activity of the business and its operations.

Requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

·       3+ years of relevant experience in financial accounting, financial statement preparation and analysis

·       Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting

·       Accounting/ERP software experience

·       QuickBooks software experience is preferred

·       Advanced Excel skills and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications

·       Strong analytical and problem solving skills

·       Strong organizational, prioritization and administrative skills

·       Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

·       Ability to multi-task

·       Must be detailed oriented, team oriented and self-motivated

·       Display a high level of integrity

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       CPA or CMA is a plus

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

·       Prepare on-time and accurate customer invoicing

·       Process accounts payable and expense reports

·       Process cash application and perform bank reconciliations

·       Prepare account reconciliations

·       Prepare and post journal entries

·       Ensure financial reporting records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures

·       Research and analyze accounting and reporting issues

·       Support the Accounting team on month-end close procedures

·       Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements

·       Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met

·       Successfully and timely complete projects and other duties as assigned

·       Provide accounting and financial support to management as needed
