JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and initial review of simpler individual, corporation, partnership and nonprofit returns;
• Prepare trusts, estate and gift tax returns; knowledgeable of estate & trusts a plus;
• Assume tax preparation for more complex tax returns, including consolidation, and/or returns with multi-state, and international issues; 
• Assists with year-end tax planning and quarterly estimates; Assists with year-end projections for high net worth individuals;
• Respond to inquiries from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other tax authorities, and Interface with tax authorities to assist with gathering information for local, state and federal tax audits;
• Provide oversight, training and support to interns and staff, and promote open communication to their manager and partner;
• Participate in tax research projects on a variety of tax issues, and assists with training on various related  topics;
• Proactively manage project deadlines to ensure delivery of work product based on client and management team expectations and statutory deadlines. Openly communicate with managers, and partners about the status and progress of tasks and projects.
• Continue to develop, maintain, and improve knowledge of local, state, and federal tax rules, regulations, and guidance.

 
QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate tax and
• public accounting experience, required.
• CPA Certification preferred.
• Strong organization skills, detail-oriented and has the ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
• Experience with accounting software packages QuickBooks, CCH ProSystem Engagement, CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Axcess Document and CCH Axcess Workstream, a plus.
