We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant with US GAAP to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accounting department with day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. - Revenue Recognition:
- Responsible for uploading of revenue data from the Practice locations to our ERP system (Sage Intacct)
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
- Review and analyze contracts (ex. Wellness) for proper revenue recognition treatment.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of weekly, monthly, and annual evenue reports.
- Month-End Close:
- Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, workpaper creation, and variance analysis.
- Ensure all revenue-related accounts are reconciled and discrepancies are resolved promptly
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, identify and correct errors and prepare reconciliation for management review on a monthly basis.
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Perform expense analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare detailed variance reports and present findings to management.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with Operations, Finance Shared Services, and Practice
- Support to ensure accurate reporting and resolve issues.
- Provide support to other finance team members as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 3+ years of experience in accounting required.
- Knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, Intacct experience is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, start-up environment and thrives on challenges.
