I have an immediate need for a Surveyor/LiDAR Technician with industry expertise who is capable of seamlessly transitioning between office-based work and field operations.
Responsibilities:
- Field Surveys and Data Collection: Conduct complex land surveys and geospatial data collection using a variety of surveying techniques, including the operation of traditional survey instruments, GPS, 3D scanners, and UAVs. Desired candidate should have experience in a few of the following areas: boundary and topographic surveys, bridge and road surveys, construction surveying for layout & contractor checks, land records research and recon.
- Data Processing and Analysis: Assist and/or Lead the processing and analysis of collected survey data, point clouds, and 3D scans, utilizing specialized software such as Carlson Survey, AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, and TopoDOT.
- Mapping and 3D Modeling: Generate precise 2D maps and detailed 3D models, leveraging acquired survey data and topographic information.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate closely with other team members, including engineers, architects, and construction professionals.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce adherence to all safety guidelines and regulations during on-site work, ensuring the safety of team members involved in field operations.
- Technological Advancement: Stay abreast of the latest surveying technologies, software advancements, and industry best practices, driving continuous improvement and efficiency within the surveying department.
- Quality Assurance and Control: Ensure the highest level of accuracy and reliability of survey data through meticulous quality checks and verification procedures.
- Assist Project Management: Oversee multiple survey projects simultaneously, managing resources, timelines, and deliverables efficiently.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in land surveying, Civil Engineering, 3D Scanning or related work, including comprehensive knowledge of various techniques and instruments.
- Desire to become proficient in surveying software, including Carlson Survey, AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, and TopoDOT.
- Experience with 3D Scanner workflows and UAV technology for surveying applications.
- Familiarity with point cloud processing and its applications in deriving accurate survey data.
- Problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in surveying results.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities, enabling effective cooperation with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols related to surveying operations.
- Professional licensure or certification as a Land Surveyor is a plus but not required.
