RPO Recruitment is currently representing a leading mining company in the Northern Cape, who is in need of an experienced Safety Manager to join their team. As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and implementing effective safety programs to create a safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
- Identify and assess potential hazards and risks in the workplace
- Create and deliver safety training programs for employees
- Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions
- Maintain safety records and prepare reports for management
- Collaborate with management and employees to foster a culture of safety
- Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Safety Management
- COMSOC 1& 2 or SAMTRAC
- ISO certification in System Auditing or integrated internal auditing
- MHSA/OHASA Legal Liability training certification
- Fire awareness training completed
- L1RA Training
- Minimum 8 years’ SHE Management experience in an opencast mining environment
- At least 5 years as SHE Manager carrying a 2.17.1 Legal appointment overseeing SHE Officers
