Safety Manager

RPO Recruitment is currently representing a leading mining company in the Northern Cape, who is in need of an experienced Safety Manager to join their team. As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and implementing effective safety programs to create a safe working environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
• Identify and assess potential hazards and risks in the workplace
• Create and deliver safety training programs for employees
• Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions
• Maintain safety records and prepare reports for management
• Collaborate with management and employees to foster a culture of safety
• Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in health and safety regulations

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Safety Management
• COMSOC 1& 2 or SAMTRAC
• ISO certification in System Auditing or integrated internal auditing
• MHSA/OHASA Legal Liability training certification
• Fire awareness training completed
• L1RA Training
• Minimum 8 years’ SHE Management experience in an opencast mining environment
• At least 5 years as SHE Manager carrying a 2.17.1 Legal appointment overseeing SHE Officers
