<p></p><hr><p><strong>Job Title: </strong> Maintenance Engineer</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> South of England (Sussex, Surrey, South London, Dorset, Hampshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire)<br></p><p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> 40 hour per week – flexible schedule between 7am – 5pm Monday - Friday</p><p><em> (with weekends & nights with notice)</em></p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> £38,000 per annum + overtime for out of hour callouts</p><hr><p>We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our team, supporting a variety of hospitality units across multiple locations, including Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Bedfordshire, and Northamptonshire. </p><p>The successful candidate will have experience with general construction tasks, plumbing, electrical and will take responsibility for both proactive and reactive maintenance, ensuring that our facilities are safe, functional, compliant, and well-maintained at all times. </p><p>You will be required to travel between sites using a Company Vehicle, so a full UK driving licence is essential.</p><p>The role involves maintaining and improving our facilities through our Facilities Maintenance and Compliance system, where all maintenance tasks are raised, reviewed, and logged. This system ensures that maintenance issues are tracked and completed efficiently, with a strong focus on compliance with safety standards.</p><hr><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Proactive Maintenance</strong></p><p>Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building structures, plumbing, and electrical systems to avoid breakdowns and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.</p><p>Reactive Maintenance: Respond swiftly to on-site maintenance emergencies, diagnosing faults and resolving issues efficiently to minimise downtime in the hospitality units.</p><p><strong>Multi-Site Management</strong></p><p>Travel across designated locations to carry out maintenance tasks, liaise with site managers, and provide support for a range of property types.</p><p><strong>General Building Repairs</strong></p><p>Undertake building and construction-related repairs such as carpentry, plastering, painting, and other tasks as required to ensure the upkeep of the properties.</p><p><strong>Electrical Work</strong></p><p>Conduct minor electrical repairs and installations, ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.</p><p><strong>Plumbing</strong></p><p>Handle plumbing repairs, including but not limited to leaking taps, blocked drains, and faulty pipework.</p><p><strong>Facilities Maintenance and Compliance System</strong></p><p>Use our internal system to raise, review, log, and track maintenance issues, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and meet compliance standards. Accurately record maintenance work to provide a clear audit trail.</p><p><strong>Compliance and Safety</strong></p><p>Ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with health and safety regulations, maintaining clear records of works undertaken within the facilities system.</p><p><strong>Equipment and Materials</strong></p><p>Maintain an inventory of essential tools and materials, ensuring they are available for repairs and installations when needed.</p><hr><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><p>A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within the hospitality, retail, or commercial property sectors.</p><p><strong>Multi-Skilled</strong></p><p>Hands-on experience in building, construction, electrical, and plumbing work is essential.</p><p><strong>Driving Licence</strong></p><p>A full UK driving licence is required, with the willingness to travel across multiple sites as needed.</p><p><strong>Problem-Solving</strong></p><p>Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to provide timely and effective maintenance solutions.</p><p><strong>Health and Safety Awareness</strong></p><p>Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.</p><p><strong>Communication Skills</strong></p><p>Strong interpersonal skills, able to liaise with site managers and colleagues effectively.</p><p><strong>Organisation</strong></p><p>Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks across multiple sites.</p><p><strong>IT Literacy</strong></p><p>Basic computer skills for using the Facilities Maintenance and Compliance Programme to track and report maintenance work.</p><p><strong>Desirable </strong></p><p>Gas Safe registered </p><p></p><p>NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation, Plumbing, or Facilities Management. </p><p>Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, or other relevant qualifications.</p><p></p> •
