Description
The candidate provides paralegal assistance to senior attorneys in furtherance of an array of business line objectives (investment management, executive, and sales and marketing) and in support of a broad range of mutual fund regulatory and administrative requirements (pursuant to the Investment Company Act of 1940). The candidate also provides significant work in drafting, negotiating, and maintaining a range of contractual and related type arrangements. Significant contact with business line staff, counterparties, outside counsel, auditors, mutual fund board members and, to a limited degree, regulators is required and desired.
Qualifications
A paralegal certificate from a business school, college or university, or for Corporate Secretarial Services only equivalent work experience (up to 3 years) is required. Experience as a paralegal will be in a corporate, government or private legal firm environment. Strong analytical skills; proven oral and written and communication skills; foundation in planning and organizing; foundation in problem analysis/solving skills; demonstrated ability to deliver precise and timely work products; ability to demonstrate initiative and high work standards; ability to manage multi-tasks and stress are essential.
