Research Assistant II, Analytical Development laboratory in the Therapeutic Protein Development Division of Genzyme Corporation
The position is responsible for the analysis of therapeutic glycoproteins and the development, qualification, and transfer of complex carbohydrate and protein assays to Operations. The position requires drafting SOP’s and technical reports in support of preclinical and clinical development, as well as cGMP sample testing support.
Skills:The candidate must be able to independently execute basic chemistry skills, such as reagent preparation, titration, and pipetting – a good set of laboratory hands and an organized, safe approach in the laboratory are critical for success.
Experience with one or more of the following analytical methodologies are required: HPLC, SDS-PAGE, immunological methods (ELISA, Western blot), capillary electrophoresis, and/or mass spectrometry.
The candidate must be very familiar with basic MS Office applications and have concise technical writing skills.
The candidate will be involved in method development and qualification, GMP material release, comparability studies, and impurity analysis using HPLC. This candidate will also be involved in developing other methods using HPLC-CAD, ICP-MS, fluorescence detection, CE-SDS, mass spectrometry etc.
This candidate will be responsible for maintaining laboratory safety and GMP compliance and be trained to work in this lab.
Education:A Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Biochemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related discipline with at least 2 years of experience, preferably with some GMP training
