Duties:
Provide laboratory support to enable rodent model screening processes and meet *** Animal Healths Discovery needs. The incumbent will assist day to day operations for internal drug screening and insect rearing activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Contribute to daily operations support of rodent model screening laboratory, including but not limited to treatment preparation, consumables stocking, and assay execution
Work closely with the other Scientists within the rodent Parasitology group to contribute to in vitro drug screening activities.
Initiate and complete tasks in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision.
Contribute to study management workflows.
Support routine parasite maintenance, infestation and husbandry activities.
Perform all activities in compliance with safety protocols, legislative expectations of regulatory agencies, as well as internal standards of Good Scientific Practice.
Learn basic operation of MS software and equipment, leading to occasional independent operation with minimal support from other scientists
Skills:
Sc or equivalent/comparable qualification from an accredited institution in biological sciences with at least one (1) year of relevant experience.
Experience in in-vitro parasite/insect culture and rodent handling.
Experience with microscopy.
Ability to perform activities using aseptic technique
Track record of reliable working attitude and meticulous laboratory work execution.
Developed communication, interpersonal and intercultural skills allowing effective interaction within the team.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in whole organism or other screening in a research company or academic institution.
Some experience with lab animals.
Basic statistical analysis skills. •
