VetsEZ is currently seeking a SQL Developer to join a team to support a project with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The position will support the Data Migration & Syndication effort within the Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO).
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Perform ETL processes to convert data into various target formats (e.g., text, SQL, Parquet, CSV, MDF, IRIS).
- Model and design data tables and schemas to support an evolving data syndication architecture and enterprise dimensional model.
- Evaluate and recommend commercial modeling and data cataloging tools for implementation.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, update data models, and ensure compliance with VA data standards and emerging industry standards.
- Enhance database architectures and designs to meet integration needs, supporting deployment, change management, and customer access security.
- Assist with the use of InterSystems HealthConnect, HealthShare, and similar tools, while ensuring all code and documentation comply with VA security regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server; including daily use of T-SQL scripts.
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), ERWIN or similar tools to automate, monitoring, design, or data mapping functions.
- Create database and file structures to include definitions of file characteristics, file layouts, data dictionary entries, and file indices for each subsystem
- Develop new logical and physical data models to accommodate data storage and analysis needs of various data warehousing and analysis projects.
- Knowledge of database architecture, administration, and security for on-premise and cloud-hosted database systems.
- Communicate and lead effectively detailed technical discussions and develop and present required briefing materials to ensure the customer’s needs are met.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Mongo, Azure Data Bricks, Varigence BimlStudio, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Spark etc.
- Experience in the VA or other federal organizations desired.
- Experience with Data Migration and Data Syndication within the VA desired.
- Ability to obtain a Government clearance.
