Position: Cytotechnologist
Shift: Flexible (Morning/Evening/Overnight)
Location: Mt. Sinai Brooklyn
Duration: 3+ months (Extendable)
Responsibilities:
1. ASCP Board Certification in Cytotechnology- they should list their ASCP number in their CV
2. Valid NY State license in Cytotechnology- license number should be in their CV as well
3. Recent cytology screening/sign-out experience in Non-Gynecological and Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA)
cases- if they haven't screened in the past 6 months, then they will not be helpful for us.
For example a person might be board certified and have a NY State license in Cytotechnology, but may only have done administrative work recently. This happens a lot with cytologists who have recently been in a supervisor/manager position, since most of the people at these levels don't do a lot of screening
anymore. This also applies to cytologists who may have only had recent gynecological screening experience. A lot of the private labs now only do GYN pap cases and since we would not have the candidate screen GYN cases, candidates coming from these type of labs would not qualify.
4. Recent FNA immediate assessment experience (within the past 6 months)- same as above.
