Thorough understanding of Physician and Part B billing.
- 3 -5 yrs of experience with physician and part B insurance follow-up and resolution.
- Comfortable calling insurance companies to check on claims and perform Appeals and retro authorizations if needed.
- Working through collection accounts for patients while following the company’s policies and guidelines.
- Posting payments , takebacks, adjustments, issuing credits when applicable.
- Assist team members in follow-up work ques.
- Self-starter in understanding how to properly work thru an accounts receivable report and working thru outstanding claims.
- General understanding of how to properly file an insurance claim and dealing with clearinghouses.
- General knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4, & HCPCS coding.
- Able to meet deadlines and understanding timely filing deadlines for both Government and Commercial payers.
Software experience would help; EPIC and understanding simple Windows based medical billing software(EMR EHR) is a plus.
