To provide leadership to the team and to manage the operators, plant, and equipment to provide a quality service in the manufacturing of roof support systems to our customer with a strong focus on ensuring high SH&E and efficiency standards.
Key Accountabilities
Safety, Health, Environment & Security:
x Ensure the plant work practices and environment comply with company SH&E and regulatory authority standards.
x Manage local relationships with regulators.
x Assist in the development and implementation of the SH&E plan for the sites.
x Participate in SH&E monthly meetings & Toolbox talks.
x Provide leadership and coaching to employees to ensure SH&E plans and standards are met and plant operations are managed safely.
x Promptly report, investigate and mitigate all unsafe working conditions and incidents.
x Ensure minimum damage by implementing environmental improvements plans, minimising waste, and waste reporting.
x Implement SH&E Model Procedures including a particular focus on the Core Procedures.
x Ensure plant and equipment is in good order by regular inspections and site audits.
x Create a positive SH&E culture by encouraging employees to participate in safety programs including JSERA's, JCCs, and promote safe work practices.
x Assist in the management of emergency & security plans. x Identify and enter GLI.s into the system Commercial Ownership/Creative Customer Solutions run the business as if it is your own
x Manage costs at the plant level. x Develop relationships with key customer personnel.
x Prompt follow up of customer queries/complaints.
x Optimise scheduling of resources to efficiently run plant operations.

x Manage DIFOT Operational Efficiency
x Work with Maintenance Supervisor to develop and implement maintenance schedules for plant & equipment and ensure both are kept in good order by regular inspections.
x Ensure sufficient, trained resources are available to meet business demands.
x Ensure raw materials are ordered on time, labelled, and stored correctly and current MSDS's are available.
x Manage receipts and dispatches from the plant. x Housekeeping plant & equipment 5S.
x Support and participation in Lean Six Sigma initiatives, e.g. OEE, TPM, 5S, visual manufacturing.
x Interact closely with the Commercial Department to anticipate and plan for future demand requirements.
x Monitor and ensure compliance with established quality standards by working closely with the Quality Control Team.
x Ensure personnel are trained correctly on equipment and new tasks.
Working Together
x Monitor and manage employee vacation and attendance, as per policy. Ensure all vacation allocations are taken during the calendar year.
x Communicate performance targets for the plant to the team. x Identify potential employees with the required competencies and assist manager to develop appropriate succession plans for key roles.
x Conduct regular performance review discussions and coaching sessions with employees.
x Identify training needs and provide appropriate development. x Conduct audits to ensure compliance with operating and SH&E procedures.
x Ensure that all employees are kept informed by effective communication. x Manage basic HR issues in consultation with the Plant Manager.
x Ensure that team members are appropriately recognised and rewarded for their efforts.
