This is a highly technical position that requires a candidate who is equally comfortable on the shop floor as well as at a computer workstation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal machining with automated machinery, as well as experience with CAD software to produce production-ready tooling, fixture, and gauge drawings and a demonstrated ability to design and procure tooling.
The primary responsibility of the Engineering Manager will be to support the manufacturing processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective production of precision parts and components. This includes tool selection, set-up reduction, and unattended machining. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
The candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate will need to work collaboratively to ensure that products are manufactured to meet customer specifications. The candidate should have experience with project management.
Design and implement machine modifications. PLC programming and implementation. Adapt robots to production machinery. Troubleshoot complex machine problems (both mechanical and electrical) and implement repairs. Design tooling and estimate cycle times for new production processes.
