CodePath is a national non-profit that is reprogramming higher education to create the most diverse generation of software engineers, CTOs, and founders. We deliver industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. Our students train with senior engineers, intern at top companies, and rise together to become the tech leaders of tomorrow. As of 2023, we've served 10,000 students a year nationwide, and we plan to scale up to ~100,000 students a year by 2028.

CodePath is at a critical inflection point as we launch our 5-year strategic plan and scale our organization in its next phase of exponential growth and impact. To support this evolution, we are embarking on a $200M philanthropic campaign. This is an opportunity to join a high performing Development team committed to securing the resources needed to actualize our ambitious vision of educating 100,000 computer science students annually in the next five years.
CodePath is seeking a Manager, Donor Relations to collaborate closely with the Director, Campaign & Leadership Giving and the Vice President, Development to support the 5-year, $200M Campaign, assist in building out the Leadership Giving pipeline, and manage high-level donor events and stewardship activities. The ideal candidate is inspired by CodePath's ambitious vision to transform education starting with computer science, and to train engineers who will generate over $1.5T in wealth for low-income communities within the next 20 years. Additionally they bring experience with the philanthropic community in the tech, workforce development, and education space and have a track record of supporting strategies to secure gifts from UHNWIs and HNWIs.
CodePath's work to date has been made possible by doubling to tripling the amount of funds raised year over year with $28M+ raised in 2023. Our ideal candidate has worked in environments where frontline fundraisers are regularly raising 6- and 7-figure, multi-year commitments. Experience in a philanthropic campaign environment is highly preferred.
Key Activities
Donor Stewardship & Events
Partner with the Director, Campaign & Leadership Giving on individual giving strategy, with the goal of growing the individual giving portfolio and effectively stewarding donors throughout the Campaign and beyond
Support the VP, Development and Director’s individual prospect and donor plans, with a focus on those giving more than $250,000
Collaborate with the Director to ensure thoughtful and strategic donor stewardship for donors at all levels, following a stewardship “menu”
Collaborate with the Development Team and Program Teams to develop creative ideas for donor engagement through communications, events, and more
Serve as primary point of contact for all development events; ensure seamless planning and execution in partnership with the Director, VP, Development and, when applicable, Office of the CEO
Development Operations & Prospect Research
Develop year-end fundraising appeals, with a specific emphasis on building the “wide funnel” of the prospect pipeline; steward online donors to move them up the pipeline and increase contributions
Develop donor recognition strategies and create thank you cards, impact stories and photos for stewardship purposes
Working with the Manager, Developer Relations, support activities to successfully convert volunteers into donors
Manage donor acknowledgement and tax receipt process including preparing, sending and tracking acknowledgement letters and tax receipts to donors
Conduct research on current and prospective donors, and prepare research and meeting briefings for the CEO, VP, Development and Director
Support preparation of quarterly updates to the Board on the status of the Campaign
Qualifications
Passion and commitment to CodePath’s mission and vision
Minimum of 4+ years of relevant work experience desired
Demonstrated experience having supported and managed fundraising plans for multiple frontline fundraisers and/or executive teams, resulting in significant revenue growth for organizations; emphasis on experience managing high-end events and stewardship plans
Track record of identifying six- and seven-figure HNWI prospects
Experience with how high-net worth donors, family offices and foundations can be stewarded
Ability to succeed in a fast paced environment working with a wide variety of stakeholders, priorities, and ambitious and overlapping deadlines
Excellent team player with ability to work independently and in collaboration with colleagues at all levels across departments and external stakeholders
Superior attention to detail with high degree of initiative, organization, and a proven ability to meet and complete multiple tasks with solid deadlines with full follow-through
Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills; ability to represent CodePath in a highly professional, engaging manner
High level of emotional intelligence and relationship-building intuition
Solid working experience with CRM tools
