VetsEZ is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a Department of Veterans Affairs project. The role involves providing service consultation for Health Service Mesh (HSM) consumers, supporting VistA data services, and guiding development teams in delivering efficient services.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with HSM consumers and provide service consultation.
- Offer guidance to development teams on implementing VistA data services.
- Review and evaluate architecture proposals.
- Share insights on VA infrastructure and decouple services from Cloud Native approaches.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.
- Expertise in REST principles, API versioning, and testing tools like Postman.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Node.js for API development.
- Strong proficiency in Java and API development (RESTful, web services).
- Expertise in Microservices, Containerization, and Cloud Native technologies.
- Knowledge of VistA interactions, VA systems, and healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7).
- Experience with VA infrastructure, monitoring, security, and database management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with VA Handbook 6500 requirements.
- Experience with Kafka, AKRON, RPS wrapping, and integration support.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development.
- Familiarity with VA environment is a plus.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance.
