Mining Superintendent

RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled Mining Superintendent to join our client's team in the mining industry. Our client is a reputable company operating in the Northern Cape, known for its commitment to safety and operational excellence.

As a Mining Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day mining operations and ensuring that they are conducted efficiently and safely. You will manage a team of miners and equipment operators, ensuring that production targets are met and all activities comply with safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise mining operations to achieve production targets
• Develop and implement mining plans and schedules
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Monitor and control production costs and budgets
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize mining operations and resource utilization
• Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate records of production activities and performance indicators
• Provide leadership and guidance to the mining team

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Open Cast Blasting Certificate
• Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience of mine engineering and planning in open-pit surface operations
• Mine Overseer Certificate would be advantageous
• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role
• Strong knowledge of mining regulations and best practices
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
