Job Summary
The Financial Reporting Accountant will play a crucial role in preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various financial reporting processes. This position requires a strong foundation in public accounting, with a specific focus on the construction and real estate industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Statements: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Reconciliation: Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and explanations for internal and external audits.
- Policy Maintenance: Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency.
- Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends and changes in accounting standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BS in Accounting).
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with a base in public accounting.
- Experience in the construction and real estate industries is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
