Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant / Business Analyst to join our team at Englert, Inc. This role plays a crucial part in our financial operations by providing valuable insights into cost management and business performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting and a passion for analyzing financial data to drive strategic decisions.
Pay: $115,000
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update standard costing data within the ERP system including new items and monthly/quarterly/annual cost rolls.
Monitor and assess all cost elements such as raw material, paint, packaging, scrap, labor and overhead to ensure standard costs are accurately calculated and costed for each product.
Investigate, analyze, and monitor variances between budgeted, standard, and actual costs; identifying root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Support the quoting process by providing estimated cost and price for new products timely and efficiently.
Update item prices as needed per pricing review approvals.
Provide assistance to the accounting and finance department as needed such as forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
Execute assigned steps related to month end close. Ensure tasks are performed in a timely and quality manner.
Perform account reconciliations as assigned. Address reconciling items in a timely manner and perform root-cause analysis.
Periodically assess inventory for risk (e.g. Excess and Obsolete), make recommendations for reserve levels or other action steps
Interact with external auditors and address audit requests in a timely manner
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
Proven experience in cost accounting and financial analysis – minimum of 4 years.
Familiarity with standard costing, manufacturing variances and inventory absorption
Strong knowledge of Lower of Cost of Market and other key GAAP concepts related to inventory. CPA a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff is required.
Ability to perform duties in a professional and ethical manner.
The ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information is required.
