Sentoria's Exploration & Production client is hiring a Senior Gas Accounting Analyst in Houston, TX. The company is focused on the acquisition, exploration, and sustainable development of high-quality assets in the Permian Basin in West Texas. They have a well established management team and a great team collaborative environment. Excellent compensation including bonus and long term incentives.

Job Responsibilities:

Proficiency in wet gas allocations, gas analysis, component-level liquid allocations, take in-kind residue & NGLs, imbalances, netback pricing, deducts, gas gathering & processing contracts, and sales meter statements
Ongoing maintenance and ownership over the design and execution of processing monthly revenues, owner royalties, and additional transactions resulting from the entire life cycle of gas production, processing, and sales
Develop efficient and scalable methods for the compilation and input of data, including monitoring and review activities that validate accuracy and emphasize timeliness
Document and effectively communicate to relevant third parties and internal functional roles any irregularities identified in source documentation or during the processing of the data in the system
Accumulate a high-proficiency over the design of various systems, along with an understanding of how other systems interface and the impact of how further enhancements to the accounting system can benefit processes
Perform variance analysis, implement exception-based reports, and establish reasonableness thresholds that are concurrent with the trends observed in the processed data over specified periods
Provide management with feedback explaining the actual results of operations, fluctuations in actual activity compared to expectations, and unusual or infrequent transactions along with an explanation of the impact
areas of the company to identify pain-points and present solutions to resolve the issues in a mutually beneficial manner
Assist in the updating of inputs to various forecasting and accrual models by utilizing an understanding developed from comprehensive review and observance of ongoing changes in the actual data inputs each month

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related discipline (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred)
5 7 years of U.S. (onshore) upstream Oil & Gas experience
Experience primarily associated with gas sales volumes, including volumes derived from processing (Residue & NGLs)
Enertia, Procount, EMK3, SQL, Power BI
Regular collaboration with multiple functional groups of an organization including production, marketing, land/D.O., JIB, regulatory, internal auditors & external auditors, and executive leadership
Advanced understanding of utilizing Excel for data analysis
