Due to continuous growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Network Engineer to join us.
Goal:
The Network Engineer is a member of Engineering Team within Professional Services and plays a key role in the successful delivery of Infrastructure Projects comprising of Wired and Wireless Network for our clients. The role is accountable to ensure assigned projects meet client requirements and are delivered using ‘best-practice’ within agreed scope, time, budget, and quality.
The role would also require projects to be delivered individually or as a part of large Infrastructure refresh where you would be working with group of engineers and delivering as per design and implementation guidelines provided by Lead Network Engineer.
Requirements
- Previous role with an IT&T System Integrator, Professional Consulting Services, Internet Services Provider or similar organisation.
- At least 5+ years in a network engineering role
- Must have current certifications in Fortinet Firewall/SD-WAN (FCSS), FCP (Switching and Wireless), and/or Aruba Switching/Wireless Stack (ACSA, ACMP) or equivalent certification.
- Must have at least 2 other vendor network related industry certifications
- Strong knowledge and industry experience across a range of networking technologies including vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco/Meraki, HP-Aruba, and Palo Alto.
- Industry experience working within the ITIL framework (ITIL certifications highly regarded)
- Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of following technologies:
- Next Gen Firewalls (FortiGate ‘preferred’, Palo Alto, Cisco, and Meraki)
- Routing (FortiGate, Cisco and Meraki)
- SD-WAN (FortiGate ‘preferred’ and Meraki)
- Switching (FortiGate ‘preferred’, HP/Aruba, Cisco)
- Wireless (FortiGate ‘preferred’, Aruba, Cisco, Meraki)
- Highly regarded to have experience around following:
- Service Provider Routing experience
- Security Appliances (IPS/IDS, NAC, Web Proxy)
- Orchestration Tools (Aruba Central, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiPortal, FortiCloud and EMS)
- Log Management (Syslog, SIEM)
- Network Load Balancing
- Azure and AWS Networking (IAAS)
- Practical understanding of the following technologies:
- Microsoft Windows including Active Directory, DHCP & radius services
- SAN and Virtualised environments, particularly relating to the Network implications
- Disaster Recovery techniques
- Security processes and procedures
- Strong project delivery and documentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Planning, designing, and executing wired and wireless network solutions, along with the assessment and improvement of current network infrastructure individually and as a Team.
- In collaboration with the Project Management Office and/or Lead Engineer, ensure solutions are being delivered in line with design, statement of work and scheduling milestones.
- Collaborate with the Project Management Office to develop project schedules and manage variations.
- Configure, test, and execute network cutover to ensure the delivered solution is scalable, secure, redundant, and dependable.
- Assist Network Provisioning and Field Services Engineers for WAN Services configuration, testing and cutover where required.
- Address project-related incidents according to ticket SLA and follow Incident and Change Management protocols in accordance with blueAPACHE standards.
- Identify obstacles and offer alternate approaches to engineers.
- Manage project plans, prioritise tasks, handle workload to meet established standards and deadlines, and prepare progress reports as needed by engineering and project managers.
- Provide relevant project artefacts to the Project Manager.
- Facilitate a smooth project handover to operational teams (and provide high-level training if required).
- Participate in vendor training or undertake self-study to address skill gaps and achieve certifications as instructed by the business.
