ROLE OVERVIEW:
Under general supervision, Loss Prevention Investigator is responsible for minimizing the financial losses at Fashion Nova related to a lack of internal controls, theft, vandalism, accidents, and injuries with a primary focus on the company’s Distribution Center and Headquarters location. The Loss Prevention Investigator is responsible for creating a culture of safety and security throughout the Distribution Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Protects company assets and improves profitability by implementing, supporting, and assisting with the operation of security and safety programs for employees, managers and guests
- Monitor of Fashion Nova’s team members and vendors, vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the facility and entrance and exit of outside carriers and vendors to ensure compliance with Company, Federal and State regulations, policies and procedures
- Assist in providing programs for team members, the facility, and company to deter illegal or unethical acts that may impact the safety, security or financial wellbeing of the company.
- Assist in improving the work environment, by suggesting and implementing ideas for greater efficiency and the overall quality of a safe and secure work environment
- Demonstrate a bias for action and strong commitment for security in our fast-paced online retail environment while following applicable policy and procedure
- Conduct daily activities given by Leadership
- Conduct dedicated surveillance of individuals displaying dishonest behaviors
- Provide feedback to Leadership of any exceptions, incidents or pertinent information
- Ability to share important information with on-site security guards and employees one-on-one, in groups, and in written form.
- Ensure that all Company safety and security standards, policies and procedures are maintained in the Distribution Center
- Serve as a member of the organizations Emergency Response Team (ERT) and act as first responder in order to provide first-aid and triage situations until emergency personnel arrive
- Perform routine testing and maintenance of security systems and fire equipment
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Two to three years’ experience in a similar role or capacity or the equivalent combination of education and work experience with at least one year working in either a safety, loss prevention or security related role
- Previous demonstrated experience in using CCTV (EXPERIENCE WITH MULTIPLE CCTV CONFIGURATIONS AND VENDORS, INCLUDING NEST IS HIGHLY DESIRED)
- Previous experience conducting and/or witnessing loss prevention interviews or interrogations is a plus. Earned Wicklander-Zulawski certification is highly desired
- Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to work various schedules, including afternoons, overnight, and early mornings, including occasional overtime to meet business needs
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
- Accuracy and attention to detail while walking warehouse attempting to create leads leading to internal investigations
- Ability to work within set time frames and fixed deadlines
- Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks or projects
- Demonstrated familiarity with retail distribution technical terms and processes
- Ability and willingness to continue education as necessary
- Solid knowledge and understanding of loss prevention activities and safety program
- Ability to manage rapidly changing priorities in a changing environment with a sense of urgency
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including large group presentation ability
- Ability to travel as needed within the greater Los Angeles area (<25% ANNUALLY)
- This is an on-site role – remote and|or hybrid work is not an option
