We are seeking a Controller to lead our General Accounting team. The Controller will play a key role in the growth of our company by leading the accounting, tax, audit and treasury functions of the company. In this role, you will partner with all aspects of the business to build and improve business and accounting processes, systems and controls while ensuring that core accounting functions are operating at a level appropriate for the stage of the Company. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, obsessive about details, enjoys serving a rapidly expanding business, and wants to lead and learn to grow with the company. This role will report to our VP of Accounting.

As the Controller, you’ll…

• Lead all aspects of our general accounting functions including AP, General Accounting, tax, treasury, financial reporting, and payroll
• Manage all monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities; prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and report on financial variances and trends within timelines provided by Management
• Identify opportunities to improve internal accounting processes; propose and implement solutions
• Lead the team through financial statement audits; manage relationships with auditors
• Build, lead, support, and develop a high-performing accounting team
• Manage external stakeholders to address audit, banking, compliance, reporting, insurance and tax requirements
• Work cross-functionally with other leaders to challenge and optimize our accounting & finance systems as part of scaling initiatives
• Partner with Finance to create financial projections and budgets; analysis of results against budget
• Develop a comprehensive set of control processes to mitigate financial risk and ensure accuracy of company records

What will you bring to this role…

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• CPA with 10+ years of experience, including 3+ years of public accounting experience with a Big 4 accounting firm
• SaaS industry experience required.
• Experience owning accounting policies and procedures for a growth-stage company
• Experience leading a team through a financial audit
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP
• Ability to work cross-functionally to scale processes and support business needs
• Proven people manager with a track record of building successful teams
• Experience in accelerating the month-end close process through system and process improvement initiatives
• Ability to both see the big picture and dive into the details
• A proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and to build strong working relationships
  
  

Compensation information:

The compensation for this position is structured to include a base salary + RSUs. Base salary bands are listed below.

CA/NYC Tier:

Base: $192,500 - $225,000.00

US Tier:

Base: $182,500 - $212,500.00
