The Corporate Controllers organization acts as a strategic partner across business and functional groups and professionals within the division work closely with management teams at Client. This alignment adds value to the firm's operations through insightful analysis and participation in planning and process redesign.
The Benefits Controller's team within the Corporate Controllers' organization provides finance support to all businesses for employee benefit plans, including financial reporting and analysis, regulatory filings, and tax reporting. The team is also responsible for developing the U.S. benefits budget and other forecasts for the firm's employee benefit plans. The group prepares and files financial statements required by our regulators, and also provides extensive support to external auditors.
The Benefits Controller's team is seeking 1 Consultant. Responsibilities include the following:
-Assists in preparation of financial statement footnote disclosures required for Client and subsidiaries 10-K and 10-Q
-Liaise with regional coordinators relating to Client's international pension and postretirement plans to review, follow-up and consolidate information for 10-K and 10-Q
-Assists in preparation and filing of financial statements and footnote disclosures required for U.S. employee benefit plans
-Support internal and external audits for US employee pension plans
-Coordinate tax preparation required for US employee benefit plans with internal and external teams
-Work with internal teams and external vendors to strengthen process controls and financial reporting
-Prepare financial reporting for all non-qualified pension plans and medical plans
-Support inquiries from Corporate groups (Finance, Tax, Legal and Benefits)
-Prepare monthly journal entries and manage monthly and quarterly closing process
-Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and roll forwards for employee benefit plans
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred but not required
-5 to 10 years' experience with benefit plan reporting or audits of benefit plans a plus
-Public accounting experience is preferred, Big 4 a plus
-Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills required
-Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and deadline sensitive environment
-Ability to initiate and manage change
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Track record of successfully working both independently and in a team environment
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines
-Strong Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
