About the Position:

 

We are seeking a talented hardworking Millwork Purchasing Agent that can source and purchase products for all Millwork projects. The Millwork Purchasing Agent will work in our Millwork Division located in Goodbee, LA. near Covington.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Locate suppliers by establishing relationships, and researching goods, services, and materials.

·        The Millwork Purchasing Agent must negotiate vendor pricing and demonstrate a strong understanding of vendor terms and conditions for materials and services.

·        Responsible for overseeing the material warehouse and inventory, providing the shop floor with the product required for production.

·        The Millwork Purchasing Agent works directly with the Shop Manager, Project Managers and Engineering in purchasing materials and other items necessary for completing projects.

·        Build takeoffs items and confirm quantities prior to developing purchase orders.

·        Procure laminates, hardware, hardwoods, board and melamine finishes, and other materials needed for manufacturing.

·        The Millwork Purchasing Agent is responsible for ensuring all purchasing and inventory date is accurately entered and updated in our ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHINICAL SKILLS:

·        Two years of experience in a wood manufacturing or construction purchasing role.

·        The Millwork Purchasing Agent must be a team player, have a strong work ethic, and be willing to work extra hours when needed.

·        Excellent communication and time management skills.

·        The Millwork Purchasing Agent must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

·        Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve problems.

·        Strong financial understanding with the ability to control costs.

·        The Millwork Purchasing Agent must have the ability to read and understand bid documents, specifications, spreadsheets, and blueprints.

·        Computer skills; Microsoft Office including Excel, Bluebeam, and Trade Soft.
