Gowan Milling Blytheville is looking for a Quality Lead. Reporting to the Quality Manager.
Job Description
- Work as a team with other lab personnel on duty to make sure all necessary tasks are completed correctly and timely.
- Operate the laboratory during the absence of the Quality Manager.
- At shift change, ensure that on-coming technicians are versed on current tasks and methodology.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GC and HPLC instruments as well as other laboratory equipment, as needed.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies. Assist the QC Mgr. in maintaining inventory of physical reagents and other laboratory supplies. Manage/maintain inventory of (current) analytical standards, control samples, and reagents.
- Train and supervise lab technicians in analytical and physical procedures.
- Set up physical methods according to customer protocols and review physical data notebooks.
- Set up analytical methods according to customer protocols/oversee chromatography.
- Review analytical data daily
- Verify daily scale checks and monthly verifications are being performed.
- Perform instrument qualifications and issue internal COA’s.
- Perform analytical method development, as needed.
- Ensure MALs are known and analyze cleanout /TCAL samples.
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule as need arises to cover for absent lab technicians.
- Assist lab technicians in their tasks, as needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a closely related field; or 5-7 years’ experience in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of GC’s, HPLC’s, and other analytical instruments.
- Three years’ experience in laboratory testing.
- Strong working knowledge of formulation of agricultural chemicals.
- Proficient in operation of personal computers using standard office software.
