In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge research in the field of Robust AI, with a focus on enhancing the robustness and generalization of Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) models.</p><p><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>Location: This position is located at our R&D office in Ruoholahti, Helsinki, Finland.</strong></p><p><strong>This is a full time consultant position. The consultant shall be employed by Huawei's supplier.</strong></p><p><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>Main responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Conduct cutting-edge research to improve the robustness and generalization of AI models, particularly LLMs, Computer Vision, and NLP models.</li><li>Develop innovative techniques to mitigate adversarial attacks, data poisoning, and other security threats.</li><li>Explore and implement methods to enhance model reliability and reduce bias.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply robust AI techniques to real-world products and services.</li><li>Publish research papers at top-tier conferences and journals.</li><li>Participate in defining the research roadmap for robust AI and content security.</li><li>Conduct research to advance the state-of-the-art in robust AI techniques and content security solutions.</li><li>Collaborate with other researchers and industry experts to explore new ideas and approaches.</li><li>Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI research and industry trends.</li><li>Design new features, identify and design the right metrics, and perform data analysis to drive decision-making.</li><li>Effectively communicate research findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>Contribute to the development of robust AI guidelines and best practices.</li><li>Collaborate with security teams to identify and address potential vulnerabilities in AI systems.</li><li>Develop tools and techniques to assess the robustness and reliability of AI models.</li><li>Promote the ethical and responsible use of AI technologies.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>Strong theoretical foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and AI.</li><li>Proven experience in research and development of robust AI techniques, particularly in computer vision, multimodal AI, and generative AI.</li><li>Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.</li><li>Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).</li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>A passion for research and a desire to push the boundaries of AI.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with large language models and their applications.</li><li>Track record of publications at top-tier conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ACL, EMNLP).</li><li>Experience with adversarial attacks and defenses.</li><li>Knowledge of formal verification and certification techniques for AI systems.</li><li>Deep knowledge of Transformer, CNN, and Diffusion architectures, and neural network editing.</li><li>Proven success in designing lightweight, high-performance architectures and models for devices.</li><li>Experience in bias detection and prevention, explainable AI, and robustness improvement.</li><li>Experience with public cloud environments and mobile development.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>We will start interviews immediately when suitable candidates are found, so do not hesitate to send in your application too long!</p> •
