Quality and Compliance Specialist - 6 Month FTC

The recipe!

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the quality and food safety within our Ryecroft factory in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

This will entail ensuring strict compliance to the Weetabix Standard for Food Safety, the Weetabix Quality Management System (WQMS) and meeting BRC, legal & customer requirements.

• Drive Results and performance to achieve the Quality & Food Safety Strategy.

• Deputise for the Quality and Compliance Manager.

• Engage and challenge stakeholders at the appropriate level while maintaining positive interactions.

• Manage the Audit Program to ensure appropriate actions are completed within agreed timescales, to ensure continuous improvement.

• Manage daily quality issues, investigate complaints, make recommendations and escalate incidents as required.

• Manage Food Safety and Compliance in line with legal and customer requirements.

• Coach teams on quality and food safety standards to ensure procedures are fully understood and implemented accurately in line with company procedures (including QMF99, WMS, AX, QMF16).

• Develop, implement and maintain new procedures with key stakeholders’ (SOP’s, quality checks, quality & food safety documentation).

• Deliver change by taking the lead on projects and executing food safety initiatives.

• Manage equipment calibration, cleaning standards, the pest control program and procedural concessions to operate high standards and comply with legal guidelines.

• Build and sustain a proactive Food Safety Culture, monitor and share best practice.

Requirements

Qualifications are not always the 'be-all and end-all' and we really value your wealth of experience, however for some roles that are governed by legislation we will ask for specific qualifications and achievements. We will ask for evidence of these during the process.

Non-negotiables:

• Technical and quality background with experience in food safety and compliance.
• Proven experience of driving quality improvement /continuous improvement.
• Excellent ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• PC skills (word, excel and power point are essential).

We also ask that you have;

• Ability to demonstrate how you keep up to date in your field of expertise.
• Experience and understanding of Quality Management in a Food Environment.
