Sales Engineer Job Description:
1. Sales engineers or field applications engineers, have a job that combines the principles of engineering with sales.
2. Responsible for providing technical support to clients who purchase a manufacturer’s product, or to customers of a distributor that sells the product.
3. Required to strategize highly technical solutions pre-sale.
4. In-depth knowledge of complex products, technology and solutions helps organizations identify clients’ needs, sometimes even before the client is aware of them.
5. Use of your technical know-how to explain to prospective clients the benefits of their products, how the products are useful and why their products outperform their competitors’.
6. During the transaction and post-sale, it is the role of the sales engineer to address client concerns or implementation glitches with upper management.
Skills:
1. Sales engineers must have talent for sales first and foremost. With minmum 3 to 6 yrs of experience in Electronic Components Business and releated Segments.
2. Must have excellent communication and people skills, and be ready to travel.
3. A strong technical knowledge of the products and services that the company is selling is must. Sales engineers must also be familiar with the products’ parts and their functions, as well as the processes that make them work.
4. Strong writing skills are essential. Must be able to explain technical properties of a product to non-technical staff and clients.
5. Must always be up-to-date on the latest standards and requirements, as many of their clients operate in heavily regulated industries.
6. Ability to work independently, to prioritise and manage own workflow.
7. A positive, self starting and flexible attitude to deal with a number of concurrent projects and simultaneous documentation.
8. Excellent organisation skills with meticulous attention to detail and interpersonal skills
9. Computer literate.

1. BE Electronics / BTec Electronics
2. Diploma in Electronics / BSc. Electronics - can also apply.
