The Financial Analyst will work with the broader Finance and Accounting team to support the monthly financial close and reporting process, analyze Brightspot’s performance throughout the year, and help plan for future growth / new initiatives. Your time will be approximately divided between Finance (80%) and Accounting (20%). The job will provide visibility and learning opportunities across all financial aspects of the business, and will work with executives to help them understand their expenses and tracking against key metrics.
Responsibilities
- Support deliverables for Brightspot’s annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting, and monthly operating review presentations.
- Track detailed variance analysis and key financial metrics across the organization.
- Partner with department leaders to review monthly performance vs budget, help analyze new vendors/initiative proposals, and oversee hiring plans.
- Support the Accounting team with the month-end close processes, including invoicing, revenue and expense reporting, cash forecasting, and monthly/quarterly financial reporting.
- Other ad-hoc financial analyses as they arise.
Qualifications
- BS in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required.
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience in corporate finance, accounting, or equivalent quantitative roles.
- Strong work ethic, motivated, team player, and problem solver.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to balance multiple projects throughout a given week.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Slides.
- Functional understanding of accounting in accordance with GAAP.
- NetSuite and/or SaaS industry experience a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- The starting salary range for this role is $90,000-$100,000 with a 10% annual bonus potential.

This position is located at our Reston, VA office and requires working on-site 3 days per week.
