Bookkeeper

A renowned construction company in Cape Town is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join their team of professionals. This position is responsible for assisting the Financial Manager by maintaining financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation
• Cash Book / Bank Reconciliation (to Trial Balance)
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements
• Overseeing client accounts
• Creating, sending and following up on invoices
• Updating financial records
• Collecting and reviewing data for reports
• Reporting discrepancies

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years' Bookkeeping experience in a similar environment
• In-depth knowledge of financial management and taxation guidelines
• Ability to build relationships while asking tough questions
• Excellent written and oral communication ability, English and Afrikaans
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability with Buildsmart
• Advance Computer literacy – Microsoft Outlook (PowerPoint / Excel / Word / Email)
• Prior experience in a Bookkeeping role in Construction or similar
• Experience in working with a diverse range of people and positions
