Many years back, Lam Research embarked on a journey to set up engineering center in Bangalore to expand its reach Indian talent pool. Over decade, this center expanded its capability and scope beyond engineering to global manufacturing, supply chain operations and other shared services. One of the major functional group of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Team). Within LIGHT, few of the functions like manufacturing engineering, Supplier Quality and Cost Performance engineering represent global operations.
There is an opening for the role of a lead engineer for Fixture design team within LIGHT Manufacturing Engineering. This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of LIGHT Manufacturing Process Planning team and closely working with Global Manufacturing sites based out of Tualatin, Fremont and Livermore in the US.
This individual would be responsible to create work instructions, review, approve and implement design changes into OMS for the flawless build.

Eligibility Criteria:

        Master's in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering with minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
        Or
        Bachelor's in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering with minimum 9 years of relevant experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

        You will be creating visual instruction for manufacturing assembly using standard ppt template and releasing into Manufacturing Execution System. Collaborate with Tech writers and Manufacturing engineers to get the required inputs for task execution. Create Operation Method Sheet (OMS) for cable assembly issues by working closely with cable routing engineer. As a product owner, you will be required to ensure the launch readiness of the assigned product. This includes review, approve and implement change orders into work instructions, create assembly build sequence and other related activities. You will support build by providing technicians short term corrective action to avoid any line down situation. Implement Non-Standard Request from customer by planning the build sequence accordingly.

Mandatory skills required

Proficiency in creating Operations Method Sheets/Assembly Process Planning/Work Instructions for large assemblies etc.
Good understanding of Mechanical drawings and standards, Manufacturing Bill of Materials (BoM) Management and Engineering Change Management and Release (ECR) process.
Working experience in assemblies using Creo, NX or any other CAD applications
Exposure to Teamcenter or any PDM/PLM applications

Desirable Skill:

Knowledge of Semiconductor equipment, Capital Equipment industry and its manufacturing processes
Experience in manufacturing shop floor
Excellent communication (written & verbal) & presentation skills
Knowledge of DFX process (Design for Manufacturability, Cost, Assembly and Serviceability)
Experience in virtual manufacturing/build
