We are looking for a passionate Carbon Accounting Expert to join our growing GHG Accounting and Reporting team and help us transform every company into a sustainable business, with critical responsibility and influence on our product and overall venture development of carbon and environmental accounting.

As a Carbon Accounting Expert you will make sure Cozero’s customers are set up for success to deliver on their Scope 3 carbon reduction goals by ensuring compliance, consistency and scientific rigorousness in our calculation process. Sitting within our climate team, you will help us build and continuously improve our emissions measurement process, with the aim of developing consistent and scalable carbon accounting methodologies to calculate the emission of our customers.

Tasks

What you’ll do:

• You will develop and improve our methodologies and models for calculating companies GHG emissions, with a focus on compliance, consistency and scientific rigour;
• You will deliver thought leadership on key carbon accounting principles and developments;
• You will contribute to sourcing, structuring, and aligning climate data sets to Cozero for corporate and product carbon accounting, including emissions factor, LCA and other climate databases;
• You will collaborate with teams throughout Cozero to support product development processes, leveraging your subject matter expertise to solve climate-science related challenges with practical solutions;
• You will provide an expert voice to our customers and internal teams and develop educational resources;
• You will support the development of processes to ensure accuracy and quality of our methodologies and company footprint calculations.

Requirements

Who you are:

• Calculating and interpreting corporate and product carbon footprints across various sectors is something you live and breathe and have done extensively (e.g. logistics, manufacturing, retail, media).
• You love a deep dive into the latest developments to further improve your existing knowledge of carbon accounting standards and reporting requirements (including GHG Protocol, ISO 14083, CDP, TCFD, CSRD, and EU-Taxonomy).
• Setting inventory boundaries, accounting for renewable energy and accounting scope 3 emissions using multiple approaches and databases (EEIO, LCA, supplier-specific data) doesn’t faze you.
• You get excited by the challenge of using your analytical skills to resolve complex climate data problems for advising businesses on climate action.
• Your strong communication (in English) and structured approach help you excel at project management and coordinating tasks across internal teams.
• If you haven’t studied a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Sustainable Management, Climate Science or Environmental Engineering, your work experience makes up for it.
• Above all, you care deeply for climate action and find purpose in leveraging your skills to drive meaningful impact.

Extra bonus points if you also have the following:

• Knowledge of EN 16258, GLEC Framework and upcoming ISO developments (ISO 14083).
• Programming skills in Python and SQL and / or an interest to develop them
• Experience in product research and development in a SaaS environment
