We are seeking a Heavy Lifting Superintendent for a transformative energy project in Germany, focused on converting a coal-based plant into a Power Station Plant.
This critical role involves planning, coordinating, and controlling all heavy lifting activities throughout the project's construction, precommissioning, and commissioning phases. The candidate will ensure that all lifting operations comply with the highest safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and supervision of all lifting activities, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with construction, precommissioning, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of lifting operations.
- Manage and mentor a team of lifting supervisors, ensuring all operations are performed efficiently and safely.
- Conduct regular reviews and inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Collaborate with the construction manager to optimize resource allocation and ensure timely completion of lifting tasks.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on lifting activities, providing updates to project management on progress and any critical issues.
- Ensure all lifting equipment and materials meet project requirements and are maintained to high standards.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
Professional Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in heavy lifting operations within large-scale construction projects, preferably in the energy sector.
- Proven track record of leading lifting operations in a supervisory or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations, lifting procedures, and quality standards.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to make decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in the use of project management and lifting operation software.
- Proficiency in both German and English is essential, as the project involves collaboration with international teams and adherence to local regulations.
Education and Certifications:
- A relevant secondary education certificate or equivalent practical experience.
- Additional certifications in heavy lifting operations, safety management, or related fields are highly advantageous.
Work Conditions:
- This role requires full-time presence on the project site in Germany.
- Candidates must be prepared to work in various weather conditions and adapt to flexible working hours as required by project demands.
