We are currently sourcing an experienced Mechanical Supervisor Piping and BOP Equipments to join a massive undertaking in Germany, based on the conversion of two coal-based plants into a combined cycle power plants.
The Mechanical Supervisor - Piping & BOP Equipment for Power Plants is responsible for overseeing the mechanical aspects of construction activities, focusing specifically on piping and Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment within power plant projects. Reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent, this pivotal role involves the management of both subcontracted and directly hired teams to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE) standards, and adherence to quality control policies. The supervisor is instrumental in ensuring the precise installation or disassembly of piping, static, and rotating BOP equipment in alignment with project specifications and drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
*Enforce adherence to all company policies, procedures, and regulations related to health, safety, environment, security, and quality.
*Lead the organization of the workforce to ensure execution meets project quality specifications.
*Coordinate the sequence of activities from the receipt of project materials to the completion of erection tasks, focusing on piping and BOP equipment.
*Manage all mechanical site activities for piping and BOP equipment, from supervising foremen to helpers, whether subcontracted or directly hired.
*Report on project progress, manpower utilization, and equipment status to the Mechanical Superintendent.
*Determine resource needs in collaboration with the Mechanical Superintendent, including personnel, vehicles, and materials, to ensure efficient logistics and material handling.
*Ensure all team members possess the required certifications and training for their specific tasks and site access.
*Implement on-site health and safety plans, adhere to waste management policies, and ensure equipment and tools meet project activity requirements.
*Organize workers to efficiently perform tasks as per project/vendor drawings and procedures, ensuring project specifications are met.
*Work with the Material Controller and QA/QC departments on inspection and testing activities.
*Oversee equipment integrity and maintenance, ensuring all personnel are certified for their designated tasks.
*Generate operational reports detailing manhours, equipment, and tool usage, as well as any additional work required by the project.
A minimum of 5 years of practical construction experience in Power Plants, with a focus on piping and BOP equipment.
At least 3 years in a supervisory role, preferably as a Mechanical Supervisor.
Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership and technical competence in a team-oriented environment.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma in a Technical Sector, with a preference for those with further education in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Other Specific Requirements:
This role requires an on-site presence.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering construction drawings, particularly those related to piping and BOP equipment in power plants.
Knowledge of office software, including Word, Excel, etc.
Fluent English proficiency required. Knowledge of German is considered a valuable asset.
