In the context of an ambitious project in Germany, aimed at transforming a coal-based plant into a Power Station Plant, we are looking for a QC Inspector Mechanical Erection with substantial experience in the Oil and Energy, and/or Power Plant sectors.
This role is crucial for overseeing the quality of mechanical erection activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
The ideal candidate should have proficient knowledge in German and English, given the project's international scope and the necessity for effective communication with diverse project stakeholders.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections and supervision of mechanical erection and testing activities on the construction site, ensuring adherence to approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), project specifications, and relevant codes and standards.
- Implement the quality plan for the project, including inspection, testing, and documentation, ensuring all mechanical erection activities comply with issued For Construction (IFC) drawings and applicable standards.
- Oversee the installation, piping, equipment, and related support, ensuring alignment with project specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure environmental, health, and safety procedures and maintenance rules are integrated into inspection and testing activities, maintaining a focus on safe work practices and minimizing environmental impact.
- Proactively identify potential discrepancies and non-conformances, initiating remedial or corrective actions in accordance with standards, codes, and specifications.
- Coordinate with construction teams to resolve inspection and testing related issues, aiming to adhere to project schedules and avoid delays.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination with clients and contractors regarding inspection, testing activities, and documentation.
- Manage quality control reports and maintain comprehensive documentation of all inspection and testing activities.
Professional Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of construction sequences, planning, and quality management systems, with the ability to apply ISO 9001 standards effectively.
- Proficient in quality control and inspection activities, with a deep understanding of industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME, ACI) relevant to mechanical erection.
- Familiarity with calibration control of instruments and warehousing procedures for material preservation.
- Knowledge of coating and painting techniques, equipment, and materials.
Soft Skills:
- Strong collaboration and teamwork capabilities, with the ability to effectively manage conflicts and stress, maintaining operational effectiveness and result orientation.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptation to changing project conditions, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Work Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 8-10 years of related work experience in quality assurance and control, including significant experience in the quality management of construction projects.
- Previous experience and knowledge specific to the Oil and Energy, and/or Power Plants sectors are essential.
Language and Computer Skills:
- Fluent in German and English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and familiarity with AutoCAD.
Work Conditions:
- The position is site-based in Germany, requiring a candidate willing to work on-site in a dynamic and challenging project environment.
