For an ambitious project in Germany focused on converting a coal-based plant to a Power Station Plant, we are seeking a Site Material Lead with expertise in the Oil and Energy, Power Plant sectors.

This critical role ensures the coordination and quality assurance of all materials used in the project, with responsibilities spanning from material engineering and corrosion study activities to procurement and construction support phases.

Proficiency in German and English is essential for this role, given the project's location and the need for effective communication within an international team.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate material selection reports in conjunction with the Process Department, ensuring optimal materials are utilized for the project's success.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of Piping Technical Specifications and Material Requisitions in line with project requirements, including the creation of necessary documentation such as Supply Specifications, Technical Specifications, Mechanical Data Sheets, and Inspection Data Sheets.
• Collaborate with Piping PSL for the issuance of piping MTOs and manage the technical follow-up with vendors, addressing material, painting, and coating related issues efficiently.

Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Material Engineer, with a comprehensive understanding of the full life cycle of EPC projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in Material Engineering, with substantial knowledge of techniques and tools relevant to the field.

Soft Skills and Competencies:

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively liaising between teams and with external partners.
• Strong leadership qualities, with an emphasis on planning, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• A detail-oriented approach, coupled with a commitment to high performance and timely project delivery.

Requirements

Advanced degree in Engineering or a related field.

Work Conditions:

• The role is based on-site in Germany, requiring flexibility and a willingness to engage directly with project materials and teams.

Other Specific Requirements:

• Familiarity with standard construction management systems, document management systems, and project control standards.
