WHAT YOU WILL DO
Category Managers create the strategy and tactics to anticipate and influence our customers’ needs and achieve business goals. Specifically, the primary responsibilities of the future position holder include:
Category Sales Strategy and pricing
- Overall responsibility to lead the creation and execution of the long term category business strategy (range, pricing, supply and meeting the customer)
- Design product price quality ladder and steer sales to achieve targets and when needed react to deviations to ensure sales are in line with business objectives
- Identify opportunities for category penetration and volume growth plus profit improvement
- Develop and coordinate unique promotions that are consistent with the marketing strategy and are designed to help achieve category objectives
- Conduct competitor analysis and monitor competitor strategies and recommend adjustment to category plans where needed
Inventory forecasting
- Responsible for reviewing of forecasting and planning of monthly sales to ensure sufficient inventory levels
Product and range management
- Implementation of new product launch plans, identifying new business opportunities and driving innovations with Procurement and Product Development Teams. Managing product lifecycle from concept through commercialization. Conducting range efficiency reviews
- Conducting quarterly category reviews presented to expondo’s stakeholders board identifying gaps and opportunities within the business
Meeting the customer
- Conduct data analysis and consumer research to understand and meet customer needs through range selection and presentation on the website
- Analysis of business and financial data as well as competition research, to gain insight and lead strategic decisions for marketing and sales purposes
Other stakeholders
- Actively cooperate with all key stakeholders within expondo and beyond to secure integration, common focus and to maximize impact (Digital, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance Operations)
- Cooperate with other departments and coach them to develop the competence to reach sales targets
WHAT YOU BRING IN
- Passion for products :)
- 5+ years of experience in a Category Manager role
- Bachelor/Master in relevant field (business, marketing, international business, operation management)
- Strong conceptual, project management and stakeholder management skills
- Independent and self-reliant work organization
- Work proactively and be able to switch between strategic and operational work
- Persistence and enthusiastic mindset
- Analytical mind but not afraid of getting creative
- Fluency in English (Polish is an advantage)
