Among other tasks you will be working on
- You are a generalist in cloud platforms (preference for AWS and Google Cloud) and distributed system architectures, covering compute, message queuing, databases, APIs, and event-sourcing.
- Develop and deploy solutions across the entire product life cycle, including integrations for CI/CD pipelines, creation of independent security tools, and automation of processes and workflows.
- Demonstrate an advanced level understanding of networking and networking protocols.
- Promote and implement robust security practices through security automation.
- Craft holistic solutions that consider the entire current architecture.
- Exhibit a sound grasp of SQL, NoSQL databases, and microservices.
- Utilise high-level expertise in managing Linux distributed systems.
- Apply effective analytical and problem-solving abilities for addressing intricate technical challenges.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting our Kubernetes infrastructure and related environments.
- Work with developers to improve the performance and scalability of our software application.
- Datadog and related observability Monitoring and Alerting optimisation.
- Solving critical & high pressure infrastructure issues when they arise.
What you bring along for this role
- Total of 7+ years working as a Linux Systems Administrator (DevOps Engineer), preferably in an agile software development environment.
- At least 3 years experience working with IaC and configuration management tools.
- AWS Experience: Demonstrated expertise in cloud computing platforms, with a preference for AWS.
- Linux Distributed Systems: High-level proficiency in managing Linux distributed systems.
- CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, specifically Jenkins.
- Containerisation: In-depth knowledge of containerisation, particularly Docker.
- Database Experience: Practical experience with in-memory, relational, and NoSQL databases.
- Programming Language: Professional experience in at least one object-oriented programming language, preferably Python.
- Networking: Advanced understanding of networking and networking protocols.
- Security: Proven ability to promote robust security practices through the implementation of security automation.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical thinking and effective problem-solving abilities for addressing intricate technical challenges.
- Communication Skills: Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
- Team Collaboration: Demonstrated team spirit and a culture fit with our values of no hierarchical thinking.
