Your mission
In tech we are building software systems in two main areas:
- Heartbeat: Building a virtual power plant levering our energy manager “Heartbeat” and evolving the customer experience app around this
- Operating System for installation companies: Digitisation of operations and processes from ground operations to rooftop installations
As Head of Data Platform at 1KOMMA5°, you will lead a team of talented MLOps and Data Engineers to create the data foundation for these systems. You will focus on the growth, well-being, and empowerment of the team, to enable them to improve our data platform which ensures seamless access to and analysis of critical data.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead and mentor a team of MLOps and Data Engineers, fostering an inclusive culture of innovation and quality.
- Demonstrate strong technical expertise and provide guidance and direction.
- Formulate and communicate the technical vision and roadmap for the data platform.
- Architect, develop, and manage the data platform to support efficient data ingestion, administration, quality assurance, monitoring, and accessibility.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs

- Google Cloud Platform (CloudRun, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataform, etc.)
- Terraform / Terramate
- GitHub Actions
- Python
- Looker
Your profile
- Proven leadership, coaching, and mentorship skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture
- Strong understanding of data management, data warehousing, data quality assurance principles, and expertise in BI tools, ideally Looker
- Proficiency in implementing and managing data catalogs, ensuring metadata management and efficient data discovery
- Ability to code with one or more high-level languages, ideally Python
- Extensive experience working with a public cloud provider, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and a solid understanding of its data services
- Strong customer-centric mindset with a deep understanding of the importance of enabling software delivery teams to build data-driven solutions
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written english, german is a plus
Bonus points for:
- Prior experience with IoT applications
- Having worked in a scale up environment at a company of similar size
- Interest in climate tech industry
