ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Value Consultant supports the global go-to-market (GTM, Sales + Customer Success) organization in building data-driven messaging for our customers and prospects. The main focus of this role is analyzing customer data to identify improvement opportunities and celebrate our impact with our customers. This role reports to the Director of Industry Strategy in our Business Value Services function.
We process billions of dollars in transactions each month and have unparalleled visibility into the economics of healthy promotions & loyalty programs. But given our API-driven product supports a wide range of data models, gleaning meaningful insights on that transaction volume requires a strong BI and storytelling skillset. This role will help us leverage our data to speak with credibility on our customer impact, and help upskill the entire GTM org to analyze and use the data we have on hand.
ONCE YOU ARE HERE YOU WILL:
- Business reviews: build business review materials with Customer Success Managers and Account Executives that quantify our impact and identify improvement areas.
- Business cases: build business cases with Account Executives that quantify the value of Talon.One, empowering our champions to sell Talon.One with credible financial scenarios.
- Self-serve data: continually surface data on our business impact in close collaboration with our Data team, empowering the GTM org to access meaningful data themselves.
- Benchmarking: given our newfound volume of live, enterprise customers, this role will help establish internal performance benchmarks on redemption & profitability for promotions and loyalty programs. This also entails external research to build Talon.One’s internal understanding of core promotional & loyalty benchmarks.
- Case Studies: support Customer Success & Marketing in identifying amazing indicators of our value, for publication in our sales materials and external case studies.
- ROI framework: collaborate across the BVS function to continuously improve our business impact framework, including the ROI model we use to estimate our customer impact and the calculators & spreadsheets we use to operationalize it.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
- 3-8 years in an analytical role with SQL & BI experience
- Background as a consultant, business analyst, or similar advisory role
- Mastery of Google Sheets & Slides or Excel & Powerpoint
- Experience in one or more key domains: retail marketing, ecommerce, promotions, & loyalty
- Proven track record in building compelling stories based on data
- Management consulting skillset in unearthing & clarifying our customer’s business objectives
