Full Stack Engineering Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

At Boku we are looking to develop a new product that enables partner marketing opportunities with a 3rd party mobile app. A 3rd party should be able to leverage our SDK to instantiate a web view inside their app. The web view will house a webpage that will display marketing offers managed by Boku and our partners. We are looking to onboard an engineering manager for this team who has experience in managing a team of engineers along with development experience in backend and frontend technologies. This position is going to be based in Mumbai. We are working in a hybrid environment with flexibility to work from home or office as and when needed. In the initial phase we expect manager to spend more time in office so that they familiarize more with the team and Boku’s culture.

RESPONSBILITIES:

• Lead a team of 3-5 engineers that include hiring, performance management, career development, etc
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and assistance to the team to effectively execute product roadmaps and build scalable, easy-to-use applications.
• Collaborate cross functionally with Product, Design, and Operations team.
• Interact with our merchants and partners stakeholders.
• Work hands-on with a highly skilled team of engineers
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing and release
• Be highly motivated and maintain a positive, 'can-do' attitude in a fast-moving environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
  2+ years of technical management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document and explain technical design, best practices, and integration guide to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders
• Able to thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
• Attention to detail and strong organization skills
• Strong software design and architecture skills
• Experience building products that are hosted in the cloud (AWS, GCP, etc).
• Experience with building mobile UI based applications
• Experience with building service-oriented, database driven applications
• Experience with Java or other OOP languages.
• Experience with modern JavaScript framework, such as Vue.js, Angular, React, etc.
• Experience with some (or all) of the following technologies/frameworks/tools: Maven, Git, MySQL, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Jersey, Jetty, etc.
• Experience using agile methodologies and tools
• Experience working on high-volume and low-latency systems
• Prefer: Has worked for a US-based company in the US or has exposures working with a US-based company.
