Lower School Spanish Teacher - Leave Replacement, October 2024 through June 2025
Trevor Day School seeks candidates for a leave replacement Lower School Spanish Teacher from October 2024 through June 2025. The ideal candidate is a creative and outgoing person with experience in an elementary school FLES or full-immersion Spanish program. This teacher will join a dynamic team of language teachers, across both Trevor campuses, who develop and implement a cutting-edge language program. The successful candidate should be familiar with thematic units, inquiry-based learning, and technology integration. The ideal candidate should be a good team member who enjoys sharing and exchanging ideas, and has patience, a sense of humor, and a flexible response to change.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching Spanish across Preschool (Threes)–5th Grade
Meeting regularly with the Spanish team and classroom teachers
Communicating student progress and goals through home reports, parent meetings, and emails
Qualifications include:
Bilingual and fluent in Spanish and English
Bachelor’s degree
Spanish teaching experience at the elementary level
Experience using technology to enhance classroom learning
Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues on lesson planning
Proven ability to form strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Familiarity with differentiated instruction to accommodate a range of learning styles
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor
The full-time salary range for this position is $51,000–$164,000 as per the school’s salary scale. When extending an offer for employment, Trevor Day School bases the salary upon several factors that include (but are not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education, training, key skills, and peer salary equity.
