REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a High School Diploma and two years of related work experience in mortgage lending, preferably secondary market mortgage lending. Previous mortgage underwriting experience is desired. Knowledge of Encompass origination software is a plus.
Must demonstrate a positive attitude, a professional image, and be self-motivated. Good interpersonal communication skills with a proven positive track record in customer service is required.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Fulfills a lead role as part of the Mortgage Team to ensure that each loan is professionally processed, underwritten and closed according to secondary market guidelines and First Community loan policy.
Underwrites and approves loans following investor guidelines and First Community mortgage policy.
Approves mortgage insurance applications by delegated authority.
Updates staff on investor guideline changes.
Works closely with all staff coaching on all aspects of the mortgage loan production process.
Cross train in other positions as time allows.
BASE EXPECTATIONS:

Ensure good working relationships with Appraisers, Title Companies, Realtors, etc.
Possess a detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel software applications that is adequate to perform the duties assigned.
Communicate effectively with members, coworkers and management.
Be supportive of management.
Promote First Community Credit Union through using FCCU products and cross selling.
Follows the credit union's Member Service Standards and Telephone Etiquette.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
Occasional business travel may be required.
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be required.
Repetitive motions and extensive keyboarding may be required.
