In this pivotal role, you will develop and implement comprehensive technical documentation solutions, support our managers with technical reviews and compliance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality publications for our diverse range of customers.</p><p><strong>Purpose of role</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and implement technical documentation solutions.</li><li>Provide support to the managers on technical reviews and compliance.</li><li>To have working knowledge of project management structure, technical authoring and template/stylesheet development.</li><li>Responsibility for developing technical publications delivery solutions for new and existing customers.</li><li>Work closely with project managers and project engineers to provide customers with a coherent documentation pack through the life of a project. Create documents or complete information on customer templates to enable project milestones to be met to the requirements of customers DIDS (Data Interface Documents) or CDRLs (Customer Data Requirements Lists).</li><li>Review customer quotation proposals, checking for compliance or deviation. Mark up documents and create briefing packs for design and engineering teams.</li><li>Gain an understanding of the product range and of specialist systems provided to be able to complete support documentation.</li><li>To produce ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) documentation and have an understanding of BOM (builds of material) structures, parts breakdowns and spare part recommendations.</li><li>Review customer quotation proposals, checking for compliance or deviation. Mark up documents and create briefing packs for design and engineering teams.</li><li>Gain an understanding of the product range and of specialist systems provided to be able to complete support documentation.</li><li>Ensure the monitoring and tracking of customer document submittals, including document submission dates and revision history which may be required for declaration under Export Controlled Projects. The Military and Large Projects Manager is responsible for managing the tracking of these documents for export control compliance.</li></ul><p><strong>Key Functional Responsibilities and Accountabilities</strong></p><ul><li>Create and maintain technical and project documents.</li><li>Document submission via customer or internal portals.</li><li>Create and maintain project trackers and timelines.</li><li>Hit deadlines to maintain project milestone requirements.</li><li>Liaising with the customers engineering and document teams.</li><li>Purchasing is to be carried out via liaison with the purchasing department and with permission from the Military and Large Projects Manager if required.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills, Experience and Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to manage own projects and workload.</li><li>Ability to demonstrate previous experience of developing, implementing and delivering technical publications.</li><li>Drive and enthusiasm to achieve customer quality criteria.</li><li>Good technical problem solver.</li><li>Ability to work to deadlines and adhere to schedules.</li><li>Ability to work with minimal supervision.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office products, SAP and Autocad</li><li>Understanding or experience of FMEA and FMECA would be useful but not mandatory.</li><li>High standard of written English.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and effective team player.</li><li>Excellent time management skills.</li><li>Good understanding of engineering data in a variety of formats from Engineering drawings to design reports.</li><li>Competence using project tracking tools and documentation management tools.</li><li>Have an understanding of BOM structures, parts breakdowns, spare part recommendations and Integrated Logistic Support.</li><li>Marine background / experience would be useful but not mandatory.</li><li>Experience is more relevant than educational attainment</li></ul><p>NOTE: Due to this post potentially requiring access to OFFICIAL SENSITIVE data the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and complete the Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance and credit check procedures.
