Together with our 500 colleagues in 14 countries, we strive for a future with no waste.</em><em><em><br></em></em></p><p><strong>Purpose of the Role:</strong><br>We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven <strong>Business Development Manager (BDM)</strong> to drive market share, revenue, and profitability growth for Cathelco equipment and services in key focus areas. This role involves:<br></p><ul><li>Building strong, direct customer relationships </li><li>Developing and executing effective strategies to identify opportunities, overcome challenges, and establish new routes to market.</li></ul><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a proven track record in technical sales and business development to make a significant impact.</p><h4><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></h4><ul><li><strong>Sales &amp; Business Growth:</strong><ul><li>Drive sales, up-selling, and cross-selling across Cathelco systems, retrofits, spares, and services.</li><li>Build a robust pipeline through prospecting, lead generation, and lead conversion.</li><li>Manage and maintain RFQ levels and improve hit rates.</li><li>Negotiate and convert quotes into confirmed orders.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Market Development:</strong><ul><li>Develop and implement market and territory strategies to maximize growth opportunities.</li><li>Analyse market trends and identify potential improvements, inefficiencies, or obstacles.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Customer Engagement:</strong><ul><li>Conduct face-to-face customer meetings, presentations, and seminars.</li><li>Represent the company at exhibitions, networking events, and industry forums.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Performance Management:</strong><ul><li>Oversee the performance of Agents/Distributors and ensure alignment with company objectives.</li><li>Provide accurate and timely updates to SAP and CRM databases.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Travel:</strong><ul><li>Regular business travel (50% upwards) across the UK, Ireland, and Isle of Man.</li></ul></li></ul><h4><strong>Required Skills &amp; Competencies:</strong></h4><ul><li><strong>Experience:</strong><ul><li>Minimum 3 years' experience of direct customer business development</li><li>Proven track record in technical sales of engineered systems, Maritime industry is favourable.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Skills:</strong><ul><li>Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage customers in various settings.</li><li>A "hunter" mindset with a proactive approach to generating and converting leads.</li><li>Exceptional self-motivation, organization, and ability to work independently.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Attributes:</strong><ul><li>Positive, results-oriented attitude with energy, drive, and enthusiasm.</li><li>Willingness to travel extensively for face-to-face customer meetings and events.</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong><br>At Cathelco, we are passionate about innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients.
