Our financial industry client is seeking an enthusiastic Jr. Accountant to join their team with an opportunity for long-term growth.
This role involves working across different areas of the servicing department, including but not restricted to cashiering, accounting, IT, QA, deboarding, invoice payments, reporting, and transfers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate inter and intra-departmental activities, and resolve inquiries or issues related to loan documentation and other matters as needed.
- Respond to inquiries or refer inquiries to the appropriate department or person, and ensure proper follow-through with customers and/or staff involved.
- Assume responsibility for special projects, gather data, and prepare reports for Senior Management, audits, and other personnel.
- Solve, process, and answer complex customer transactions, problems, or inquiries.
- Research and answer questions from investors as required, and answer telephones.
- Monitor investor account details for non-payments and delayed payments.
- Work closely with investors to research and resolve investor queries related to billings.
- Process and post credit card transactions from Investors.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Navigate the Servicing system to allow for timely and accurate posting of borrower payments.
- Monitor all bank accounts to ensure that balances are appropriate.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree or one year of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Work-related experience should consist of a strong knowledge of accounting for mortgage and/or financial industries.
- Preferably with loan servicing experience
