<p><strong><br></strong></p><p><b>Job Purpose </b></p><p>This role’s holder will make sure that all Tax assignments are discharged to the highest standards with the aim of offering exceptional value to clients and the Firm; nurturing high-performing people and teams, leading and supporting them to create the positive impact that matters; as well as setting the trajectory to deliver remarkable client service<strong><br></strong><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Qualified Chartered Accountant / Certified Public Accountant / ACCA with an experience in Tax department for 5 years. </li><li>Semi Qualified with experience of more than 7-8 years will also be considered</li><li>At least 5 years’ relevant experience, with 3 years or more in a managerial role.</li><li>Strong background and experience of handling tax cases. </li><li>Excellent project management, analytical and problem-solving skills</li></ul><p><strong>PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p><strong>Engagement Management </strong></p><ul><li>Responsible for, statutory and regulatory compliances under Direct and Indirect Taxes applicable to the client from time to time. </li></ul><ul><li>Review of monthly tax liability computed by team and application of control assertions while reviewing. </li></ul><ul><li>Responsible for reviewing tax provision and other schedules by prepared by the team members. </li></ul><ul><li>Competent to analyze and draft reply to the queries and notices by the Tax Revenue Authority. </li></ul><ul><li>Responsible to monitor tax amendments or changes in existing law and timely communicate the effects and applicability to the stakeholders, and also train the team for better clarity and understanding. </li></ul><ul><li>Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in computation of tax and filing of returns. </li></ul><ul><li>Responsible for managing internal/external and statutory audits pertaining to tax compliances and audits by TRA. </li></ul><ul><li>Manage the relationship with consultants and clients. </li></ul><ul><li>Support business teams with the right taxation advice for day-to-day operations. </li></ul><ul><li>Manage communication with clients and regulatory authorities on tax related matters or unreconciled transactions identified during performance of actual work. </li></ul><ul><li>Develop appropriate systems/process to track refunds/ensure visibility on taxes paid/tax liabilities. </li></ul><ul><li>Develop and implement strategic tax efficiency for all necessary taxes, like WHT, VAT, etc.</li></ul><ul><li>Working knowledge of Tally 9.0 required and system enabled checks and controls.</li></ul><ul><li>Ensuring integrity and completeness of financial records & compliance with financial control standards.</li></ul><ul><li>Implement new advantages into operations after getting it authorized by the Managing and industrial practice. </li></ul><ul><li>Provide technical support on taxation issues and support team in tax accounting and related book entries. </li></ul><ul><li>Assist Tax & Compliance Manager on new measures to minimize tax loses. </li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate with tax consultants/lawyers. </li></ul><ul><li>Prepare trackers for all compliances on monthly basis. </li></ul><ul><li>Give trainings to Junior on various laws and regulations. </li></ul><p><strong>Client Relations</strong></p><ul><li>Understand the clients’ industry, key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments;</li><li>Maintain relationships with other engagement teams and monitor team progress against plan and drive performance as required;</li><li>Establish a good working relationship with the officers and staff of every client;</li><li>Keep a close business and social relationship with the clients while keeping independence in appearance and in fact as required by the Code of Ethics of CPAs;</li><li>Keep clients aware of significant development in accounting standards and other areas that affect their businesses;</li><li>Attend to clients’ queries and requests;</li><li>Exhibit professionalism and good conduct in dealings with clients, prospects, and non-clients.</li></ul><p><strong>People Management</strong></p><ul><li>Develop team members by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team. Conduct timely performance reviews and provide performance feedback/training. Develop technical expertise –both functional and industry;</li><li>Ensure that every in-charge and staff assistant’s time is utilized productively and efficiently during and after engagements;</li><li>Provide timely feedback to assistants about their job performance, i.e., their strong and weak points and how they can improve;</li><li>Accomplish and discuss Performance Review Reports (PRRs) with Engagement In-charge immediately after every engagement;</li><li>Review and approve staff assistants’ PRRs, which are accomplished by Engagement In-charges;</li><li>Participate in an annual performance review process / deliberations on the overall performance of in-charges and staff assistants.</li></ul><p><strong>Administrative Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure that clients are billed on a timely basis and prompt payment is achieved;</li><li>Submit an accurate time report in a timely manner;</li><li>Expected to have shown an on-going commitment to their personal and professional development through continuing education and development; </li><li>Ensure that in-charges and assistants working on his engagement submit accurate time reports;</li><li>Approve reimbursable expenses, overtime and time reports of in-charges and staff in a timely manner;</li><li>Review the time charges regularly to ensure that these are within budget and to provide explanation for those exceeding budget;</li><li>Assist partners in pursuing new clients or jobs with existing clients;</li><li>Assist the partner in collecting receivables;</li><li>Review reports and deliverables of other engagement teams when requested in accordance with the quality control policies and procedures of the Firm</li></ul><p></p> •
