---THE POSITION---
The Student Support Services Coordinator is expected to collaborate with elementary and secondary leadership teams, counselors, educators, caregivers, and other professionals to create safe, and supportive learning environments.
The Student Support Services Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring the Learning Support, EAL programs. In collaboration with school principals, the Student Support Services Coordinator is expected to supervise all Learning Support and EAL teachers, and Guidance Counselors.
The coordinator will act as a liaison between our two campuses in order to align an EY-12 approach to curriculum, culture and support for all students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Student Support Services Coordinator will be accountable and responsible for:
· Providing oversight and ensure continuity of Student Support Services programs and processes Early Years to Grade 12;
· Developing and reviewing policies, programs, and procedures essential to the needs of students;
· Supporting teachers, caregivers, and administrators regarding healthy and effective ways of approaching learning and behavioral needs;
· Monitoring Learning Support and EAL program documentation, record-keeping, and communications;
· Collaborating with the learning support and to develop interventions based on individual student needs;
· Communicating with caregivers to facilitate understanding of any instructional support processes;
· Assisting teachers in examining teaching practices in order to effectively meet the needs of all students and assist with classroom/RTI interventions;
· Assisting in the development and coordination of MTSS;
· Consulting with the Admissions Director regarding admission decisions, as needed;
· Developing and monitoring the Student Support Services budget;
· Organizing and facilitating Student Support Services team meetings;
· Developing and utilizing a transition process to support students with identified needs moving between elementary and secondary campuses;
· Providing Student Support Services program orientation to new students, caregivers, and new teachers;
· Participating on the Child Safeguarding Committee;
· Participating in the recruitment, selection, assignment, and evaluation of Student Support Services personnel;
· Being a member of the school-wide Learning Leaders Team.
Professional Learning Responsibilities
· Developing, facilitating, and implementing a differentiated teacher professional development (PD) program;
· Developing, facilitating and implementing in-house PD events for teachers, caregivers and administrators;
· Working with the Principals and Deputy Director to hire and facilitate consultancy work to support various school programs and initiatives.
· Developing and facilitating Caregiver Coffee information sessions.
---DESIRED QUALITIES/EXPERIENCES---
· Bachelor’s degree required, Master's Degree or higher is preferred;
· Experience in an international school setting preferred;
· At least five years’ experience working with a school setting, meeting the needs of special needs or English Language Learners and managing similar programs;
· Proven record of successful leadership with at least 2 years administrative/leadership experience.
· Demonstrate an advanced understanding of instructional strategies for students with Learning Support, EAL needs;
· Ability to relate to and empathize with the needs of a diverse student population;
· Demonstrate ability to foster a positive school climate for students, staff, and community;
· Ability to implement innovation in education support processes;
· Effective and engaging oral and written communication skills (on-line, via email and in print);
· Direct experience with Professional Learning Communities (PLC);
· Familiarity and knowledge of Third Culture Kids;
· Knowledge of IB Programmes is an asset.

FACILITIES
The Science Park campus is located in the heart of Guangzhou’s technology center, Science City, in Huangpu District, where Upper Elementary students (Grades 4 and 5) and Secondary students (Grades 6-12) attend. The Science Park campus finished its complete renovation in August 2023 and has state-of-the art, well-equipped facilities with an open-concept design. The campus also features a Performing Arts Center with at theater, black box, music classrooms, and practice rooms; an Athletic Center with a natural grass field, an indoor 25-meter swimming pool, two gymnasiums with three full-sized courts, a fitness room, a dance studio, two external climbing walls, an indoor running track, and two rooftop spaces; and additional amenities that include innovation labs and design centers, a cafeteria and cafe area, a nurse's office, a creative multimedia space, and a central library.
TECHNOLOGY
All classrooms are equipped with the appropriate technology for interactive instruction. Starting in Grade 1, students are in a 1:1 device program, iPads for Grades 1-5 and laptops for Grades 6-12. Teachers incorporate the ISTE Standards into their curriculum with the support of the innovation technology coaches. Technology is integrated where appropriate, and the development of research and information literacy skills is expected. Each teacher is assigned a MacBook laptop.
