About Auror
At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to tackle theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 Billion problem globally. It’s high volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.
Founded in New Zealand 11 years ago, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
Auror is connecting people and intelligence to reduce crime. We’re using technology for good.
In partnership with our leading retail partners, we need people with the passion, determination, and innovation required to overcome one of the world's largest problems. If you’re looking to make a difference with and for the people dedicated to stopping crime, for good, then we want you on our team.
The Role
If you are looking for a job description with a clear set of responsibilities and consistency in what you are doing day to day, this role is not for you. This is a role for someone who enjoys working through ambiguity, gets energised by no two days looking the same, is comfortable working at a fast pace, and thrives in a world of constant change.
You’ll be teaming up with our Chief Customer and Commercial Officer (CCO), who is focused on accelerating Auror’s rapid revenue growth across the globe-responsible for all customer-focused functions including Sales, Commercial, Marketing, Relationship Management and Customer Success.
While you’ll enjoy working at pace in a dynamic environment, you’ll also bring structure, rigour and challenge; supporting the CCO to context switch and keep focusing on the biggest opportunities for growth. You will also work closely with the wider Customer Leadership Team and other key leaders across Auror. Together, you’ll execute on these challenges and make a big impact.
Our CCO works at a fast pace and needs someone who can run as fast whilst bringing structure and adapt to the constantly changing landscape that comes in a fast-growing company. You'll enjoy whiteboarding, storyboarding, and building out slides. You are resourceful, proactively seek out information, comfortable with transforming data to drive decision making, you ask the right questions, you have a bias towards action, and are great at prioritising and managing your time. You deliver exceptional work with minimal context. You are comfortable working with all levels of stakeholders in and outside of the business. You are strategic, analytical, creative, good at writing, and fun to work with.
This role reports to Rhod Thomas, our Chief Customer Officer.
I am originally from Wales; with a love for rugby, rolling hills and good beer, the only other place in the world I was ever going to settle-down was going to be New Zealand! Even though I now call this place home, my background is in Management Consulting and I have been very fortunate that this has allowed me to work all over the world with a wide range of organisations. I have come to realise that working on challenging problems, having variety, and working with smart, driven people are really important for me to be happy and successful in work. Therefore, I thrive in collaborative environments, I love a good methodology and do my best thinking at a whiteboard with a pen in hand. Outside of work, I try to get out on the water as much as possible and am happiest with a fishing rod in hand, catching dinner for family and friends.
Requirements
Key traits for this role are:
You are direct and candid. You share where you stand. You don’t care about being right, you just care about Auror succeeding and how to get there as fast as possible.
We are looking for people who demonstrate a strong alignment to our Guiding Principles (you can find these on our Careers page).
Auror is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible application process to all candidates and we are actively working to improve diversity within the tech industry. We celebrate diversity and inclusiveness at Auror, regardless of (but not limited to) race, gender, sexual orientation, family status, religion, ethnicity, national origin, physical disability, veteran status, or age.
If you need adjustments to any part of our recruitment process because of accessibility reasons, please do not hesitate to let us know during the application process. We will work with you to identify adjustments that will allow you to perform at your best.

Next steps:
If you’re excited about our mission and you have the experience and a passion for this role, please hit “Apply”.
If you’re not sure that you tick all the boxes but feel you’re close to what we’re looking for, please apply anyway! We’re proud that Auror is a place where everyone can learn and grow so we’d love to hear from you.
You'll be asked to submit a cover letter as part of your application. While this is optional we do encourage it, as we find cover letters can tell a story that resumes alone often cannot. Our hiring team love to understand what attracted you to this role and why you are excited about the opportunity to join Auror.
